Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

With rain showers this morning the day stared slow. The winds were calm but never had a consistent direction throughout the day. The temperature was around 80 for most of the day when the rain showers left.

Even with the rain showers the fishing was good today. In Rodanthe there was a 59 lb cobia caught along with some flounder and grey trout. Avon the spot. sea-mullet, croaker are still hanging out. Buxton today was slow with just some spot caught. From the beaches in Frisco there were sea-mullet-pompano and some bluefish.

The drum bite is still good in the sound. Here’s Stanley Ballance with a nice sized one caught today.

Offshore the boats that went out had to fish around the rain storms but still caught fish. There were some blue marlins, white marlins, and some sailfish caught. Also a few bottom fish caught along with some wahoo and dolphin.
