Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had mostly sunny skies.  The winds were from the north-east at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.  The ocean is rough with the north-east blow we are experiencing and with Hurricane Cristobal passing way east of us.  Hurricane Cristobal’s swell will peak around Thursday and begin to subside by the weekend.

Fishing today from the Avon beaches was too rough and no fish were reported. Some sea mullet and pompano were reported on the Buxton beach.  Cape Point in Buxton has opened to 4 wheel drive traffic once again.  We are sure glad to hear that. The Frisco beach over Ramp 49 had reports of sea mullet and a few puppy drum. Down on the Hatteras beaches and the inlet there were bluefish, pompano and a few sea mullet reported.

No boats fished today inshore or offshore due to the windy weather..
