Today was mostly overcast with a high around 73F. The winds were out of the north-north-east , blowing a good 10-15 mph just about all day. It finally feels like September.
The spanish mackerel bite is going strong at Cape Point in the morning. Bluefish, jacks and false albacore are also being caught there too. There are a few puppy drum and bigger drum, but those with lures are catching more than those with bait. Frisco beach had some bluefish, spanish mackerel and small pompano. Hatteras beach had spanish mackerel and bluefish.
There is no inshore or offshore report for today. High winds kept the boats at the docks.
