Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

It was a beautiful day on Hatteras Island.  We had sunny skies with a high around 70F.  The winds were blowing out of the northwest around 15 mph in the morning and lessening throughout the day.

Avon beaches report bluefish and sea mullet.  Buxton beaches report bluefish, sea mullet and puppy drum.  Frisco beach had puppy drum and bluefish.  Some of the bluefish were caught using metal.  Hatteras beach reports puppy drum and bluefish as well.  Pictured below is Mike Hartley with his almost 8lb puppy drum caught here at Ramp 49.

The inshore boats had good catches of drum, sight casting for them.  The offshore boats had good catches of wahoo.  The dolphin and king mackerel bite was fair today.  There was a few blackfin tunas mixed in also.  The boats that bottomfished had good catches of triggerfish and a few citation gray tilefish.
