Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

The day started out cool with some heavy thunder storms around but turned out to be a great day. The winds were north 5-10 mph turning to the south west later in the day. the temperatures were in the low 70’s first thing in the morning but rose to the mid 80’s in the afternoon.

In Avon today the fishing was great. from the beach there was puppy drum, pompano, sea mullet, and bluefish. From the pier there was croaker, spot, gray trout, and blues caught. In Buxton the fishing was slow but there was still some flounder and sea mullet caught. Here in Frisco there was only a few sea mullet caught. From the Hatteras beach there was some bluefish, sea mullet, and pompano.

Inshore today there was some good clamming. There was some puppy drum and bluefish caught as well as a handful of cobia.
