Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was partly cloudy with cooler temperatures. The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.  We are starting to see swell from Hurricane Gonzalo, a category 4 which is forcasted to hit Bermuda tomorrow afternoon.

Up on the Avon beaches some sea mullet, small pompano , black drum and puppy drum were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches some bluefish and puppy drum were caught.  Pictured below is Eric Kwiatkowski with a puppy drum he caught o nthe Buxton beach today.  Pretty work Eric!!!puppy drum Buxton beach

Out at Cape Point in Buxton puppy drum, yearling drum and bluefish were reported.  Over on the Frisco beach some bluefish and puppy drum were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach the bluefish bite was really good with pompano, sea mullet and flounder caught.

The few boats that fished offshore today had some decent dolphin fishing and the triggerfish and sea bass fishing was good.
