Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

The weather was beautiful today. The temperature was in the upper 60’s with light winds from the north in the morning turning west in the afternoon.

Avon today the puppy drum, spot, and sea-mullet were biting. From the beach in Buxton there was bluefish and puppy drum. From the Frisco beach the fishing was slow but some bluefish and sea-mullet were biting. Hatteras beach had all kinds of fish caught today, puppy drum, bluefish, sea-mullet, spot, flounder, and even some croaker.

Inshore the puppy drum are still biting good. At night the gigging has been great with some nice sized flounder.

Off shore today was one of the better days this week. A few boats brought in limits off dolphin along with wahoo, king mackerel, and a scattered blackfin tuna bite. From the bottom there was triggerfish and some gray tilefish.
