Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today the winds were calm with partly sunny skies. The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph. The temperatures were in the mid 60’s.

Tomorrow is the first day of the 57th Annual Cape Hatteras Anglers Club Surf Fishing Tournament at Cape Hatteras Recreational Sea Shore. Good luck to all the participants.

On the Avon beaches today some sea mullet, black drum and bluefish were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches bluefish, puppy drum and one big red drum were reported.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton they caught bluefish, puppy drum, yearling drum and big red drum.. Over on the Frisco beaches a pretty good day of bluefish catches and puppy drum.  The Hatteras beaches had reports of flounder, bluefish and sea mullet

The inshore boats had good catches of puppy drum, gray trout and bluefish in the Pamlico Sound today..

The offshore fishing was slow today with a blackfin tuna and a wahoo caught aboard the only boat that fished.  .
