Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had warmer temperatures and rain off and on today.  The high was 66F.  The winds were south-south-east, starting out light around 9 mph and increasing through the night up to 25 mph with gusts up to 34 mph.

The speckled trout have made their showing on the ocean side.  They have been caught from Avon beach to Frisco Pier.  Some nice size ones and some on the small size.  All you need is a jig head, artificial grub and find the right hole.  Avon beach reports a few speckled trout, bluefish, sea mullet and puppy drum.  Avon Pier had a good run of red drum this morning.  They reported over 25 caught and released.  Pictured below is Rod and Gun’s own “Tater” with one of his drum catches this morning.  Perty fish Tater!  Buxton beach reports speckled trout, bluefish, sea mullet and gray trout.  There were some keeper flounder caught on the north side of the Point as well as some bluefish.  Frisco beach had some speckled trout, black drum and puppy drum.  Hatteras beach had bluefish, sea mullet and flounder.
