Hatteras Island Fislhing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had partly cloudy skies with rain showers early in the day. The winds were from the north north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.

We had pretty good fishing today from the beaches.  Up on the Avon beaches there were catches of sea mullet, puppy drum, pompano and bluefish reported.  Around the Buxton beaches we have had puppy drum, pompano and some big bluefish in the 8-11 lb range.  Over on the Frisco beach  and down on the Hatteras beaches there were  sea mullet, bluefish and pompano caught.

The inshore boats caught more puppy drum and some red drum over 40 inches in the Pamlico Sound today. The spanish mackerel and bluefish bite was really good just outside Hatteras Inlet.

The offshore fleet had good catches of gaffer dolphin with a few wahoo and blackfin tuna.   The bottom fishing was really good today with triggerfish, snapper and grouper caught.
