Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had another great day here on the island. The temperatures started out cool in the upper 50’s but rose to the mid 70’s for most of the day. The winds were from the west at 10-15 mph.

From the beach today the fishing was really good. From the beach in Avon there was a good amount of fish biting with sea-mullet, bluefish, puppy drum, speckled trout, blow toads and even some spanish mackerel. From the pier there there was spot, sea-mullet, bluefish and croaker biting. From the beach in Buxton there was bluefish, spot, sea-mullet flounder and some puppy drum caught. Here on the Frisco beach there was some sea-mullet and bluefish biting. Hatteras beach had blowtoads, black drum, sheepshead, puppy drum and speckled trout.

Inshore today wasn’t the greatest. There was only a handful of drum caught today.

Offshore the fishing was great again. The black-fin tuna bite was great. Gaffer and bailer sized dolphin were caught as well. The wahoo and yellow-fin tuna bite was scattered. There was also a good bite from the king mackerel today.
