Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

The weather was fair for a day on the water. The winds were South-West at 5-10 mph in the morning and 10-15 mph in the afternoon. We had some cloud cover this morning but cleared up as the day went on. The temperature was around 80 today.

Slow fishing off the beach. In Avon there was sea-mullet bluefish and croaker caught. Off the pier there was sea-mullet, spanish mackerel, bluefish and croaker. In Buxton there was flounder biting. No report for Hatteras or Frisco beaches. Ramp 49 in Frisco has been graded and filled with some sand so there is minimal amounts of water on the ramp now.

Slower fishing inshore today. There was a scattered puppy drum bite in the afternoon along with some red drum releases.

Only a few boats made it offshore with the winds. For the boats that did it paid off with a great dolphin bite and scattered amberjack.

Good Luck to those fishing the 57th Annual Hatteras Marlin Club Blue Marlin Release Tournament.

Surefire Sonic Defender

EP3 Sonic Defenders® protect your hearing without interfering with your ability to hear routine sounds or conversations. Their double-flange stem design fits most people and provides a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 24dB. Sounds, at safe levels, are allowed to pass through into the ear canal, while potentially harmful noises (above 85dB) are reduced via a proprietary design that incorporates the patented Hocks Noise Braker® filter. EP3s include attached stopper plugs, which can be inserted for further protection, and they also block out lower-level noise like that heard on a plane. They can be used in situations where hearing ambient sounds or conversations isn’t critical. The right/left color-coded Sonic Defenders are made from a soft but durable, hypoallergenic polymer and are ergonomically shaped, with an adjustable-stem design, providing a secure fit, all-day comfort, and extended product life (3 to 6+ months, depending on usage and care). And their low-profile design means they can be worn while wearing a helmet or mask, or while using a phone or headset. Each set is packaged in a convenient carry case.
