Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was a beautiful day!  We had a high in the mid 80’s.  The winds were  southwesterly for a good part of the day, between 5 and 12 mph.

There is still sea mullet up and down the beaches.  There were some pompano on the southside of the Point.

The inshore boats had a good day along the beach.  They caught spanish mackerel and cobia.  In the sound, speckled trout were caught.

The offshore fleet had a good day as well.  They had catches of dolphin, blackfin tuna and wahoo.  There were triggerfish, grouper and tile fish caught off the bottom also.  There were also a blue marlin and a white marlin released.

Bonze Oceano Black Grimmel

Named after Captain Olaf Grimkowski this lure is one of my most recent developments. A weighted rounded edge tube gives it stability even in rough water. This lure has been a real star in its short career already taking numerous blue marlin in excess of 500lbs from the waters of Ascension Island, Cape Verde and the Azores. The Grimmel will become an integral part of your spread! Skirted Length: 400mm / 15.75” Hook Size: 10/0 – 11/0 Leader size: 400lb – 600lb
