Welcome to all those who are joining us for this 4th of July week here on the island! It was a beautiful day here today. We had a high temperature of 82F this afternoon. Winds right now are out of the East at 4mph. High risk of rip currents through Sunday evening. Keep an eye on your loved ones in the surf.

FREINDLY REMINDER – Please remember this is a National Park and ALL fireworks are illegal to set off. Enjoy your 4th celebration with friends and family but leave the fireworks to the professionals on the Avon Pier tomorrow evening.

Fishing all around was non-existent yesterday. Nothing to report.

Today was a bit better with some reports of Croaker and Sea Mullet up in Avon.

Speckled Trout are still being caught in the sound. Wade out knee deep or head out on your kayak for best results.

The offshore boats finally made it out and the fish were there. Lots of Dolphin of all sizes.

Sea Creature and Release both released a Blue Marlin today.

Hatteras Fever II released both a Blue Marlin and White MarliIn

First of July already and it was a hot one. Today’s high temperature hit 84F but out in the sun, it felt a bit warmer than that. Winds have picked up and are out of the SW at 25mph. Thunderstorms with the potential for heavy rain throughout the day tomorrow.

Fishing all around was not good today here on the southern beaches.

Saw some Pompano and Sea Mullet caught up North of the point earlier today before the winds stirred up.

No offshore report for today.

Inshore boats that went out were on the Drum and Speckled Trout once again.

Hot and humid conditions today. Good day for swimming in a pool or hanging out in the ac. We had a high temperature of 86F this afternoon. Winds right now are out of the SW at 19mph. Looks like more of the same conditions tomorrow with a slight chance of rain in the am.

Word from the surf has been non-existent. Choppy waters combined with the heat have slowed things down a bit.

There are reports of some Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish but you had to be out there in the early am to get them.

Offshore was the same, slow and scrappy. Most boats went bottom fishing and had good results there. There were some Dolphin and Wahoo brought back as well.

Tuna Duck released a Sailfish.

Inshore is still good with Speckled Trout and Red Drum.

High temperature for today was 86F. Fantastic day to spend some time on the beaches! Winds are out of the South right now at 18mph. Looks like its going to be another beautiful day tomorrow as well.

Slow day off the surf. Saw Pompano caught off of ramp 43 earlier.

Sound is still good for Speckled Trout.

Offshore fishing produced some Dolphin, Blackfin Tuna and a variety of bottom fish.

Creature released a White Marlin.

Inshore boats were catching Amberjack, Speckled Trout and Red Drum.

Fishing report took a couple of days off, sorry about that, technical difficulties. Back on track today! Hot and humid day here on the island with a high temperature of 86F. We have winds out of the SE right now at 15mph.

Hottest fishing has been in the sound for the past week. Lots of Speckled Trout and puppy Drum have been caught. Most have been caught on cut mullet.

Good amount of Dolphin and some Wahoo caught today offshore.

Native Son released a Sailfish

Inshore boats caught Speckled Trout, Red Drum and some Bluefish

Hatteras Marlin Club Blue Marlin Release Tournament

Doc Fees is the lead boat as of this evening in the 62nd annual event..!
