Here is your Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks fishing report for Hatteras Island.
The weather caused seas to be rough, so charters stayed at the docks and rough winds caused beach fishing to be challenging. Winds were kicked up at 20-25 mph out of the southwest. Temperatures were in the upper 80’s and lower 90’s again, and no rain.Beach Fisherman who ventured out into the rough seas were somewhat rewarded today. Puppy drum, sea mullet and pompano were caught off the south beach. Sea mullet were also caught on the north beach. Spanish mackerel and bluefish are still biting steady at the point.
Inshore charter guides reported a decent catch of speckled trout in the 88 degree water around Hatteras inlet, on the sound side.
No offshore charters left the dock.
The weather is supposed to be a lot better tomorrow. Winds are expected to blow 5-10 mph out of the NNW, therefor clearing the water up a little. Only a 30% chance of rain with scattered thunderstorms. With the wind change, tomorrow should be a great day for sea mullet and pompano.
