8-5-11 Outer Banks Fishing Report

Here is your Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks fishing report for Hatteras Island.

The weather was fair today. We had clear skies with winds blowing 10-15 mph out of the northeast. Temperatures were in the upper 80’s and low 90’s.

Beach Fishing was decent today as we heard a few different reports. Some fisherman reported pompano and sea mullet along the south beach, but mainly below ramp 55. Spanish mackerel and bluefish had another little run at the point tonight as well.

Inshore charters had a decent day today. Reports of a few gray trout, speckled trout and bluefish came from Hatteras Harbor Marina.

Offshore Charters had a decent day as well. With the pretty weather offshore today, charters caught good catches of dolphin, bailers and gaffers. The wahoo bite continues to be pretty decent as boats are reporting of landing 5 or more a day. The amberjack bite was scattered as well. Two sailfish were reported out of Hatteras Harbor Marina. One released by Lucky Chip, and one released by the Gambler. There were also three sailfish released out of Teach’s Lair Marina today.

Tomorrow looks to be a little different from today. There is a 60% chance of rain with scattered thunderstorms. Winds are expected to blow 10-15 mph out of the southeast. The temperatures are also expected to be in the high 80’s and low 90’s tomorrow.
