8-13-11 Outer Banks Fishing Report

Here is your Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

The weather was nice today. Temperatures were in the high 80’s and low 90’s. Winds were blowing 5-10 mph out of the east.Beach Fishing was great as lots of reports came in. Bluefish and spanish mackerel continue to be caught at the point, while sea mullet, pompano and puppy drum are scattered amongst the northern and southern beaches. Also a few flounder around.Inshore charters reported an excellent catch of speckled trout, gray trout, and bluefish.

Offshore boats reported good dolphin fishing along with a few wahoo and blackfin tuna. There were two sailfish released out of Hatteras Harbor today. One from the Sea Creature and one from the Tuna Duck.

The weather looks a little less promising. The temperatures are supposed to remain in the high 80’s, but the winds are supposed to increase significantly. It is expected to blow 15-20 mph out of the southeast and a 60% chance of rain with a few thunderstorms.
