Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today was much warmer with light winds.  We had north-east winds at 5-10 mph switching to the south-west and the temperatures were around 60 degrees.  No report from the surf today.  The forecast is looking like temperatures could be in the mid to upper 60’s for the rest of the week, but winds could be in 15-20 mph range with scattered showers.  Offshore fishing was pretty good.  The bluefin tunas were biting the top water popping plugs pretty good today.  Some amberjacks and alabacore were hitting the vertical jigs.

These Braid Tantrum Poppers are the new generation of popper that stops fish in their tracks! The front of the bait is flat, instead of concave, this allows it to be ripped across the surface more easily.  The Tantrum Poppers are rigged with 4X hooks and 500lb through wire.  These are not in stock yet but are on the way, just in time for the bluefin tuna top water popping.
