Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today’s weather was really nice.  We had light south-east winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 60’s.  Beach fishing was a little slow, but they did catch some blow toads on the Frisco and Hatteras beaches.  Offshore fishing was not so good today.  With the current running a little strong it made the bite slow.  A few bluefin tuna were caught, very few yellowfins caught and some boats caught a mess of blackfin tuna on the vertical jigs.  The picture below is from the “Godspeed” boat and they were jigging blackfin tuna.

The Williamson Bentos Speed Jigs are a blackfin tuna favorite off the coast of Hatteras.  With a diamond shape design, this jig drops vertically at high speeds and gets you right on top of the fish even with a heavy drift.
