Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

This morning we had rain showers.  By mid day the sun came out and the day was really nice.  We had light south-west winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.  Today the beaches from Cape Point south had good catches of blow toads.  Also  as I type the big drum are biting at Cape Point.  Another fun fishing fact, today we had a report of a good number of cobia caught within three miles of Hatteras Beach by a drop netter.  We have a lot going on and our spring fishing season looks awesome.  It’s a good time to come to Hatteras Island.   The offshore fleet caught some nice gaffer dolphin, some blackfin tuna and amberjacks today.  A couple boats headed way up the line to where the bluefin tuna are,  some big fish were up there.  Some in the 89 inch range were caught.  The top water popping plugs are still working and some on the troll too.

The Prime Series Bucktail Jig from Spro is unlike other jigs on the market. The unique shape of the head, coupled with the lifelike finishes and realistic eyes make these jigs stand out in a crowd.  Get ready, the cobias are just off the beach here in Hatteras and so are the big red drum.  Sight casting to either of these fish using buck tails are a blast.
