Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today was sunny and windy.  We had south-west winds 15-20 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.  The Buxton and Avon beaches have been more productive.  Some sea mullet and croakers have been caught, along with blow toads and a few bluefish.  The Frisco beach was producing good amounts of bluefish reported by one customer.  The blow toads and sea mullet were caught pretty good from the Frisco and Hatteras beaches.  The big drum are still being caught just outside Hatteras Inlet from the inshore charters.  The spanish mackerel and albacore have been caught further south from Hatteras.  The offshore fishing was pretty good today.  Some nice wahoo were caught, the biggest was a citation at 41 lbs.  A few boats had a real good dolphin catches and a few yellowfin and blackfin tunas.  Good bottom fishing today as well.  Vermilion snappers, triggerfish and golden tilefish were all caught.   One white marlin was released by the “Tuna Duck”.  The picture below is from the “Tuna Duck” today.  A pretty cool shot of the white marlin jumping.
