Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

The Weather in Frisco was mostly sunny most of the day.  By the late afternoon the thunderstorms showed up and we had rain, thunder and lighting.  The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.  Slow fishing from the beaches today.  Although some customers reported some tarpon spotted at the end of the Avon pier today with some bluefish and sea mullet caught.  There are still sea mullet and pompano being caught on the Frisco and Hatteras beaches even though the water is a little rough.  The inshore boats had good catches of bluefish and speckled and gray trout.  Some big red drum and cobias were also caught.  The offshore fishing did pick back up today with lots of dolphin and a few more wahoo and blackfin tuna.  One sailfish was released.

It looks like the weather is going to be real nice by Thursday and Friday so the spanish mackerel fishing should be real good.  Using the Clarkspoon Mackerel Trees is a great way to fill your cooler with spanish mackerel and bluefish.
