Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

The Weather in Frisco was sunny and nice in the morning.  By the afternoon a line of severe thunderstorms and lighting passed through.  We had south-east winds switching to the north-east at 10-20 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.  The Avon beach had bluefish, spot and small puppy drum.  Around the Buxton beaches pompano, sea mullet and bluefish were reported.  Out at Cape Point the bluefish bite was good early morning and late afternoon after the rain passed.  A few spanish mackerel and sting rays were also caught.  The Frisco and Hatteras beaches had bluefish and sea mullet.  No boats fishing inshore today.  The offshore boats had a few dolphin, wahoo and blackfin tuna.  The billfish bite was pretty good for the few boats that fished.  One est. 500 lb blue marlin, about 6 sailfish and a white marlin were released.  Below one of 3 sailfish released by the “Native Son” charter boat today.
