Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
Today we had mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures. By late afternoon the winds switched, picked up and cooled down. We had south-west winds 5-10 mph switching to the north at 15-25 mph and the temperatures went from the low 80’s to the upper 50’s.
Fishing was better today. The Buxton beaches caught some sea mullet and bluefish with a few black drum reported. Out at Cape Point there were a couple of big red drum released. The Frisco beach report had some black drum, sea mullet, bluefish and a few pompano caught. Down on the Hatteras beach some sea mullet, bluefish and a few flounder were reported.
The inshore boats had a good day of bluefish and spanish mackerel. A few cobia were caught. A few gray trout were caught in the Pamlico Sound.
Good offshore fishing today with lots of big gaffer dolphin and pretty good yellowfin tuna catches. A few wahoo and a nice 51 lb grouper were caught.
