Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the low 80’s.  The winds were out of the west for most of the day, switching to the north-east this evening with showers and little wind.

Cape Point opened up to driving this morning.  There were sea mullet, pompano and sharks caught this morning.  This afternoon, plenty of bluefish and some spanish mackerel.  Frisco beaches had some sea mullet.  Hatteras beaches had reports of sea mullet, croaker, pompano and a few bluefish.

The inshore boats reported good red drum fishing, scattered bluefish and good spanish mackerel catches.

It was a good day to fish offshore.  There were limits of wahoo, dolphin and blackfin tuna.  There were blue marlin, white marlin and sailfish released today.  The red snapper season reopened today and there were several caught.  The picture below is of “The Godspeed” with Jack, Simon & Mikey with their catch.
