Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was mostly sunny.  The temperatures were in the upper 80’s.  The wind was out of the south at 5-15 mph.

There’s a few fish around for those here on Hatteras Island this Labor Day Weekend.  Buxton beaches had reports of bluefish, sea mullet, spot & croaker.  At the  Cape Point area, there were some puppy drum caught this afternoon.  People were catching them on lures and shrimp.  This evening, Cape Point had some bluefish and spanish mackerel.  Frisco beaches had reports of pompano, sea mullet and small bluefish.  Hatteras beaches reported croakers, spot, sea mullet and spanish mackerel.

Inshore boats had their limits of red drum, with a few releases.

Offshore boats brought in catches of yellowfin and blackfin tuna, and a few dolphin.  he wahoo catching was a little scattered today.  There were 4 blue marlin and 1 white marlin released today.
