Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
Today we had a beautiful sunny day. The winds were from north at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 50’s.
Hwy 12 in Frisco is back open after a successful Culvert Pipe replacement. My commute this morning to work was quite pleasant. Driving on the beach from Buxton over Ramp 45 to Frisco over Ramp 49 was something we have not been able to do since the Consent Degree then the ORV plan was set.
Today the fishing was excellent and the water was a beautiful bluish-green color.. Puppy drum were caught mostly on curtail grubs out at Cape Point in Buxton and over Ramp 49 in Frisco. The picture below is a puppy drum caught on the Frisco Beach today by Lee Fox on the Fly. Pretty work Lee.
There is no inshore report. The offshore fishing was pretty good today. The bottom fishing was consistent with sea bass and trigger fish. A couple of bluefin tunas were caught aboard the “Tuna Duck” today on popping rods. A 68″ and a 160 lb bluefin tuna.
