Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
Today was a beautiful day. We had sunny skies with the winds from the north-east switching back to the south-west in the afternoon at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 60’s.
We had calm seas today with wonderful beach and boat conditions. Out at Cape Point in Buxton they had better fishing for the puppy drum today. About 20 were reported caught. Over on the Frisco Beach at Ramp 49 just a handful of puppy drum were caught this morning.
There is no inshore report today. The offshore fishing was pretty good today with more blackfin tuna and some tilefish and grouper caught from the bottom. The bluefin tuna made another showing today. This time they were aboard the “Whatever” charter fishing boat with Capt. Freddy James out of Oden’s Dock in Hatteras Village. The bluefins were 82″ and 79″ weighing 210 lbs and 207 lbs dressed. They are both going to market. The picture was taken by Oden’s Dock.
