Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
Soldier, rest! Thy warfare o’er,
Sleep the sleep that knows not breaking,
Dream of battled fields no more.
Days of danger, nights of waking. -Sir Walter Scott
A beautiful Memorial Day we have had. It started out with west winds, 5-10 mph till about lunch time. The winds switched to the south west and picked up a little bit more. We had a high of 80F today.
Avon beach had spot and sea mullet. Buxton beach had sea mullet. Frisco beaches had sea mullet, pompano, croaker and spot, Hatteras beach had a cobia, small bluefish and sea mullet.
The inshore boats that ventured out of the inlet, caught some spanish mackerel. There were a few cobia caught around the inlet and soundside, some red drum were caught and released. The first picture is Tightline Charter with a nice puppy drum caught today. The next picture is Hang On Charter with two cobia.
The offshore boats returned with good catches of gaffer dolphin. There was a mix of wahoo and blackfin tuna also, along with some grouper. There was one white marlin released today. Pictured below is the Runaway Sportsfishing Charter with this little girl’s first dolphin. That’s awesome. The second picture is the Swordfish with a nice gaffer dolphin.
