Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
Today we had an early morning thunderstorm with some rain. The winds were out of the south-west around 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.
Up on the Avon beach today there were reports some sea mullet, spots and croakers caught. On the Buxton beaches they caught bluefish, some spot and a few sea mullet. Over on the Frisco beach we had some nice bluefish, spot, croaker and dog sharks. The Hatteras beach reports sea mullet and puppy drum.
The inshore boats had good catches of Spanish mackerel. In the Pamlico sound they had good catches of red drum, spanish mackerel, some flounder and clams.
The offshore boats had a electric morning with all of the lighting from the thunderstorms offshore this morning. The weather did clear for a nice day. Some good catches of dolphin and some scattered black fin tuna and wahoo. A blue marlin and a white marlin were released today from the Hatteras fleet. The picture below is from the “Godspeed” charter boat today with Larson’s first gaffer dolphin. Pretty work Larson!!!
The 56th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament continues on their 2nd day of fishing. Today 10 blue marlin and 20 white marlin were released. Their are no changes on the leader board. For a full report click the link www.thebigrock.com.
