Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was sunny with the winds increasing.   We are in a Hurricane Warning with Tropical Storm Arthur  heading are way.  Expected landfall is sometime late Thursday night and early Friday morning as Category One storm.  Today the winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

We had reports of sea mullet on the Avon, Buxton and Frisco beaches today.  Down on the Hatteras beaches there were some sea mullet, pompano and flounder caught.

The inshore boats caught some spanish mackerel and bluefish around Hatteras Inlet today.  Some boats even caught some bailer size dolphin just outside Hatteras Inlet

The offshore bite today was really good.  Excellent dolphin fishing with some nice wahoo and black fin tuna.  A few white marlin and sailfish were released today.
