Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
The weather was good for a day in the water. the temperature was in the high 80’s. Winds were south east 5-10 mph. Late in the afternoon thunderstorms showed up.
Fishing from the beach was a lot better today. From the Avon beach there was spanish mackerel, pompano, spot, sea mullet and croaker caught. In Buxton the pompano, sea mullet and bluefish were biting. From the beach here in Frisco there was sea mullet, croaker and some small flounder. In Hatteras the spanish mackerel, bluefish, sea mullet and flounder were caught.
The 11th Annual Hatteras Grand Slam Tournament had another great dayfishing. there was 5 blue marlins, 2 white marlins, and 4 sailfish caught today.Click the link to see all of the tournament updates.
Inshore today there wasn’t much going on. Few boats went out clamming and got their limit. For the fishing there was a good red drum bite with a handful of cobia still around.
Offshore today there was excellent catches of Dolphin. Wahoo bites were fair today and some Blackfin Tuna made it into the dock. From the bottom there was some amberjack caught.
