Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
Today we had sunny skies. The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.
Up on the Avon beaches some sea mullet and flounder were caught. Around the Buxton beaches bluefish and sea mullet were reported. Over on the Frisco beach some sea mullet and a puppy drum were caught. Down on the Hatteras beach bluefish, sea mullet and flounder were caught.
The inshore boats had lots of spanish mackerel and bluefish catches. Some big red drum were caught and released in the Pamlico Sound.
The offshore boats had good gaffer dolphin fishing and lots of blue marlin action. “Hatteras Fever II” weighed in a 634 lb blue marlin. A few white marlin and sailfish were released. A potential state record Skip Jack Tuna weighing 32.5 lbs was caught aboard the “Release” charter boat today.
