Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
It was a clear day on Hatteras Island, with a high off 77F. We had north-north-east winds this morning at 10 mph with higher gusts, switched to the southeast this afternoon and lessened. It will be out of the southwest by tonight.
The fishing has picked up a bit today. Avon beach had small bluefish and sea mullet. Buxton had reports of sea mullet. Frisco had reports of pompano and small bluefish. Hatteras had reports of sea mullet, spanish mackerel, small flounder and pompano.
The inshore boats had good catches of drum and trout today. Only a few boats ventured offshore and some blackfin tuna was caught. Today is the first day of The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, 3 blues were brought to the dock: SANDBOB 476.2 lbs, MARLIN GULL 564.8 lbs. (Fabulous Fisherman Level Winner) JAMES JOYCE II 418.0 lbs. Good Luck to all the participants tomorrow!
