Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
Today was hot with a lower heat index of 98 degrees. The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.
Up on the Avon beach and Avon Pier there were sea mullet, croaker, spanish mackerel, ribbonfsh and bluefish reported. The Buxton beaches had sea mullet,croaker and bluefish. Out at Cape Point in Buxton spanish mackerel, bluefish, ribbonfish and sharks reported. Over on the Frisco beaches some croaker, sea mullet and small pompano were caught. Down on the Hatteras beach croaker, flounder and bluefish were caught.
The inshore boats had good catches of red drum and puppy drum, bluefish, speckled and gray trout in the Pamlico sound today. There were a few cobias caught and other spotted. The trolling bite for spanish mackerel and bluefish was good outside Hatteras Inlet.
The offshore boats had good catches of dolphin with some limits, blackfin tuna and wahoo fishing was scattered.
