Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Today’s high was almost 83. Not much wind made for a hot one. What wind we did have was light and SE for most of the day. Currently it’s 73, feels like 81, with W winds around 3mph. Tomorrow’s temps are looking to be a bit higher, up to 85. Winds are predicted to be increased in the afternoon and out of the SW/W. Right now it looks like we’ll have rain around 5am but the radar is constantly changing with the storms offshore so don’t quote me on that.

Water temp was between 82.8 and 83.7 today.

In the surf there have been catches of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish

In the sound there has still been good catches of Red Drum, Speckled Trout, and Bluefish.

Inshore boats had catches of Spanish Mackerel, Speckled Trout, Gray Trout, and Red Drum.

Offshore boats brought in Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna and released some billfish (2 Sailfish, 1 Blue Marlin).
