Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Definitely getting chilly out there. Today’s high was 37 while the low was 30 with light to gentle winds. Gusts up to 32mph. Currently it’s 30, feels like 23, with NE winds around 4mph. Tomorrow evening and into Wednesday morning winds will be increasing. Temps tomorrow will be about the same as today’s but wind chill will make it feel colder. The latest winter storm update said we could see 4-6” of snow. Most people are thinking “I’ll believe it when I see it,” and some people are crossing their fingers and toes hoping for it. Either way, hopefully the roads and bridges will remain safe for travel. NCDOT was out working today and will continue working tomorrow to spread brine on bridges and major roadways in preparation of this winter weather event.
