7-9-11 Fishing Report

Here is your Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks fishing report for Hatteras Island.

The weather was nasty again this morning, but cleared up later this afternoon. We had heavy showers up til about 3 o’clock today. Temperatures were in the high 70’s to mid 80’s. The forecast for tomorrow is similar to that of today. Chance of thunderstorms with a 30% chance of rain. The wind is supposed to switch tonight to the north. Expected to blow about 5-10 mph tomorrow.Beach fishing was slow today. We had one fisherman come in today and reported

scattered bluefish and lots of stingrays. Even though we haven ‘nt had a few nice days in a row, tomorrow sounds like the ticket for pompano and sea mullet with the wind switching to the north.Inshore charters reported good catches of speckled trout and a few blues in the mix.

Offshore charters had a decent day as the Grand Slam Tournament continued. 6 sailfish were caught amongst the fleets. There was also nice dolphin fishing, better than the last few days, and scattered wahoo.

All in all, today turned out to be a decent day for the boats and tomorrow is promising for the beach.
