Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Today was another warm one. Muggy with a high temperature of 88F. Small chance of showers throughout the week but still looking like a delightful one. Winds are out of the SW right now at 8mph.

Just a friendly reminder to fill in any holes you and your family dig on the beaches. Turtle nests are beginning to hatch and the little ones will get caught in the holes as they make their way to the water. Also, they make for a miserable time if you don’t see one driving on the beach..

Lots of activity up in Avon throughout the day. They are reporting catches of Sea Mullet, small Pompano, Croaker and Spanish Mackerel.

Small Pompano reported off the beach here in Frisco as well.

Hot day offshore and they had a tough day fishing but managed some Dolphin and good amounts of Wahoo.

Inshore boats caught limits of Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish and keeper Red Drum.

Heddon X0360BF Tiny Torpedo Topwater Prop Bait, 1 7/8″, 1/4 oz, Bull Frog, Floating

The aerodynamic shape, balance and weight allows this lure to be cast like a bullet. They create a wild splashing surface disturbance and the Tiny Torpedo is great for everything including large and smallmouth bass. Teeny torpedo is Ultralight. Fishes just like its bigger brothers, but with action-packed appeal for panfish.
