Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

The Weather in Frisco was nice in the morning then the thunder, rain and lighting showed up by mid day.  We had south-west winds switching to the north-east at 5-10 mph.  The temperatures were in the mid 80’s.  Slow fishing from the surf today due to bad weather.  Only some sea mullet and croakers on the Buxton beach.  No fish on the southern beaches that I have heard.  The Inshore fishing was pretty good even though the weather was not.  Some cobia, big drum and flounder were the report for today.  The offshore fleet had a nice day fishing.  Real good dolphin fishing, pretty good wahoo, a few blackfin tuna and a barracuda.  The picture below is the sailfish released on the “Bite Me” charter boat today.   Get ready the 8th Annual Hatteras Grand Slam Billfish Tournament.  Fishing starts July 12th and ends July 14th.  Boats fish 2 out 3 days.  Good Luck to all the participants.  For more information click the link:  Hatteras Grand Slam.
