Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had a beautiful day with sunny skies and light winds.  The winds were from the north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.

The Buxton beaches had sea mullet, bluefish and a few pompano were caught.   Out at Cape Point there was a few big red drum released late last night.    The Frisco beach report had some sea mullet, bluefish and pompano.  Down on the Hatteras beach the big red drum were caught along with a cobia around 30 lbs and some sea mullet, bluefish and a few flounder.

The inshore boats had good catches of spanish mackerel and bluefish with some cobia caught in smaller numbers than the past few days.

Today the better offshore fishing was up to the east with good yellowfin tuna and dolphin action.  A nice grouper was caught jigging and a few sailfish were released.  A nice yellowfin tuna aboard the “Native Son” charter boat pictured below.
