Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was sunny with south-west summer winds . The winds were from the south-west at 5-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s

On the Buxton beach sea mullet and pompano were reported.  Over on the Frisco beach real good pompano fishing, the picture in the previous post was one catch.  Some sea mullet and spot also reported.   The Hatteras beach had more variety with bluefish, sea mullet, flounder and spot caught.

The inshore boats caught a few bluefish and speckled trout. A few puppy drum and a citation size red drum in the Pamlico Sound were caught.

The offshore fishing was good today with gaffer dolphin catches and some blackfin tuna with a few wahoo. Better billfishing today with 4 white marlin and a couple of sailfish released.

Tomorrow is Day 1 of 3 fishing days in the 9th Annual Hatteras Grand Slam offshore fishing tournament.  Click the link to keep track of activity and good luck fishing to all participants.
