Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
Today was mostly sunny with a temperature in the low 80’s. The wind was out of the north, around 5mph.
This morning, in Buxton, at the jetties there was a 33 inch drum caught. Out at Cape Point some keeper puppy drum and small flounder were caught on the north side. Also, a 38 inch yearling drum was released. Frisco beaches had some small bluefish and small flounder. Hatteras beaches had sea mullet, spot, croaker and small bluefish.
The inshore boats had catches of spanish mackerel, flounder and red drum. The wahoo bite continues to be good offshore. Some boats came back with their limit. There were a few yellowfin tuna and dolphin as well. Hatteras Blue released a white marlin and a sailfish. There were triggerfish, sea bass and some snapper caught around the wrecks today also.

Aftco Taper – Tip Aluminum Gaffs are a slim, tapered shape makes them lightning fast in the water – easier to maneuver and deadly accurate. They’re stronger and lighter too, so they bring fish into the boat with less flailing and confusion. The shafts are made from corrosion-resistant marine aluminum – the same material used in our famous “Unibutts” – and they are “swaged” for uniform strength from end to end, but with no unnecessary weight. Available lustrous Black finishes – anodized for lasting beauty and resistance to corrosion. All models are fitted with soft but rugged black grips molded from the same no-slip material found on the finest fishing rods. Black vinyl butt caps seal out corrosive moisture and prevent deck scarring. Gaff hooks are fashioned from stainless steel rods, with easy-to-sharpen triangular points. Black finish.
