Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
Today was another sunny day. The winds were from the south-east at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.
The Avon beach had reports of bluefish and sea mullet. On the Buxton beaches there were sea mullet and puppy drum caught. Out at Cape Point in Buxton the bluefish bite was all you wanted on lures. Over on Ramp 49 on the Frisco Beach there were some sea mullet, puppy drum and a small flounder caught. The Hatteras beach had the same report as yesterday with bluefish, sea mullet and blow toads being caught.
The inshore boats had another excellent day catching puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound today.
The offshore boats had good catches of blackfin tuna, a few dolphin and wahoo. Sightings of billfish were reported. Next week is the 20th Annual Hatteras Village Offshore Open. Fishing days are May 14-17. You can go to http://hatterasonmymind.com/HVCA/HVOO/ for more information.
