Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had sunny skies.  We have had steady southwest winds around 15 mph, with an occasional higher gust.  The temperature reached a high around 81F.

Avon beach had reports of sea mullet.  Buxton beach had some nice pompano, a few citation size.  Ramp 49 had some sea mullet, spot and puppy drum.  Hatteras had some Spanish mackerel and also a nice cobia.

The inshore boats caught trout, flounder and drum.  Those that ventured nearshore caught Spanish mackerel and bluefish.  Pictured below is Mason Wyrick with a nice puppy drum he caught in the sound this afternoon.

The offshore boats came back to the docks with lots of dolphin, scattered yellowfin and blackfin tuna and a few tilefish.  There were several sailfish released today.  Pictured below is the Hatteras Blue with a sailfish release and the Sea Creature with a yellowfin tuna.
