  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Today’s high was 68 while the low was 64 with light to moderate winds. Gusts up to 33mph. Currently it’s 64 with NW winds around 9mph. Tomorrow winds will pick up again. Wind speeds are anticipated up to 34mph with gusts up to 44mph. Temps will be about the same again in the 60s. Slight chance of rain.

Of course with the latest weather there hasn’t been much report on fishing. Hwy 12 did reopen earlier this evening but wasn’t totally clear of sand and water just yet. While most of the ocean overwash receded the sound side said it was their turn and there was 5-6in of standing water on the hwy in some places. If you do have to drive in the salt water please be mindful of others around you, people do not want to get splashed by that.
