• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Another sticky day with a high of 83. Temps have hovered around 80 all day and it currently feels like 78. Winds weren’t as intense as they were predicted to be but did get up to almost 12mph a few times. The wind direction has been all over the place today but recently has been out of the N/NNE. Currently it’s blowing 11.5mph out of the NNE with gusts up to 20mph. The rains been on an off today and it’s going to continue to be. Looks like the next big drops of rain are going to be around 5am.

    Surf side catches included Red Drum, Sea Mullet, and Pompano.

    Soundside catches included Speckle Trout.

    Inshore boats caught Speckled Trout and Bluefish.

    Offshore boats caught Dolphin and Blackfin Tuna and released a Sailfish. Not the best fishing day but they tried it anyways, sometimes that all you can do.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Today’s high got up to 84. It was a sticky day. Winds were gentle to moderate and mostly out of the W today. It currently feels like 84 with winds out of the NNW at 8mph. Tomorrow’s temps look similar but the winds are a different story. They look to be switching to the E and picking up speed in the afternoon. The rain we’re getting right now looks to be hanging around until at least the early morning.

    Surf catches included Red Drum, Bluefish, Pompano, and Sea Mullet.

    Sound catches included Red Drum and Speckled Trout.

    Inshore boats brought in Red Drum, Speckled Trout, and Bluefish. Offshore boats did not go out today.

    Today’s high was 88. Winds have been light to moderate out of the SW. Currently it still feels like 88 with winds out of the SW around 11mph and gusts up to 18mph. Tomorrow is looking to be very similar to today. Expect scattered thunderstorms.

    Surf catches included Red Drum and Bluefish.

    Sound catches included Speckled Trout.

    Inshore boats got Red Drum, Speckled Trout, Bluefish, and Spanish Mackerel.

    Offshore boats got Wahoo and Dolphin.

    Today’s high got up to 88 with winds up to 15mph. Winds remained out of the W and SW for most of the day. Currently it feels like 87 with winds out of the SW at 13mph with gusts up to 19mph. Expect rain later tonight and scattered storms for the next few days.

    Again, we had no report from the surf or sound come into the shop.

    Inshore boats caught Speckled Trout, Red Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and Sheepshead.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Today was hot and humid with not enough winds. The high was up to 90 and winds hovered around 10mph for most of the day. Currently it feels like 87 with winds out of the SW around 10mph. Tomorrow is looking to be a bit warmer and windier. Depending on the winds the big boats may not go out tomorrow.

    No report from the surf or sound that we heard of.

    Inshore boats had a wonderful day filling their coolers with Red Drum, Speckled Trout, Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, Cobia, and Clams.

    Offshore boats had a good day with Dolphin, Wahoo. and bottomfish (B-liners, Grouper). They also had a few billfish releases (Sailfish, Blue Marlin).
