• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Today was hot with a high of 86 but real feel of 97. Winds stayed gentle today, didn’t pass 10mph, and have been out of the SW/SSW. Currently it’s 80 but feels like 85 with SSW winds around 9mph. While tomorrow’s temps may be slightly lower the winds are likely to be increased. Tomorrow is going to be filled with thunderstorms so have your rain gear ready.

    We didn’t hear of anything from the surf today.

    Sound report included Sheepshead and Red Drum. The Red Drum were both slot and citation sized.

    Inshore boats brought in Sheepshead and Red Drum. Some Drum were citations.

    Offshore boats brought in Dolphin and Wahoo and released a Blue Marlin.

    The high today got up to 83. Winds have been light to gentle and mainly WSW/SSW. Currently it’s 79 but feels like 85 with 6mph winds out of the SW. Tomorrow’s temps are looking to be nearly the same as today with light to moderate winds. As of right now tomorrow is looking like no rain.

    Surf report included Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and Sharks.

    Sound report included Red Drum.

    Offshore boats caught Dolphin and Wahoo

    Inshore boats caught Speckled Trout and Bluefish.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Today’s storms sounded pretty nasty but ended up not being bad. The high got up to 81. Around 11am we got nice 21 mph winds but other than that winds have been light. Currently it feels like 85 with winds out of the SSW around 6mph. Be prepared for more rain this weekend. Looks like the next round of it is going to be around 5am.

    Surf report was Spanish Mackerel and Croaker.

    No sound report came into the shop today.

    Offshore boats brought back Wahoo, Dolphin, and Blackfin Tuna.

    Inshore boats brought back Red Drum.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    The high today was 88. Winds were gentle to moderate and mainly out of the WSW/SW today. Currently it’s 83 but feels like 87 with winds out of the SW around 13mph with gusts up to 23mph. The wind is on track to decrease but is predicted to be moderate throughout the day tomorrow. Tomorrow’s temps are looking to be nearly the same as today with a predicted high of 88 as well. Rain looks like it’s going to start around 1:30am and continue until around 8:00am. Hopefully that’ll change overnight and won’t bother any fishing trips in the morning.

    Surf report included Red Drum, Bluefish, and Sea Mullet.

    Sound report included Red Drum, Speckled Trout, and Bluefish.

    Inshore boats caught Red Drum, Speckled Trout, and Bluefish.

    Offshore boats caught Dolphin and Wahoo. There was also a release of a Sailfish.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Today’s high got up to 86 but felt like it was in the 90s. Winds have been gentle to moderate, not nearly as intense as they were predicted to be. They’ve been mainly out of the W and SW. Currently it’s 82 but feels like 88 with winds out of the SW at 9mph with gusts up to 16mph. Tomorrow’s temps and winds are looking to be similar to today.

    We didn’t hear of anything from the surf or sound this afternoon.

    Inshore boats brought in Red Drum, Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel, and Bluefish.

    Offshore boats brought in Wahoo, Dolphin, Grouper, and Blackfin Tuna. There were several billfish releases today (2 Sailfish, 2 Blue Marlin, 1 Swordfish)

    At the shop today we weighed in a 40lb King Mackerel caught by Chris Glancy of Virginia Beach, VA.
