• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a repeat of yesterday.  We had temperatures nearing the 90º mark and winds out of the east-southeast around 10-12 mph.

    Avon Pier and beach is reporting some pompano, sea mullet, spot, croaker and bluefish.  Buxton had some spanish mackerel and sea mullet.  They caught some nice size spanish mackerel at The Point last night.  Frisco also had catches of sea mullet and pompano. Hatteras is catching sea mullet and bluefish.

    The inshore boats had good catches of speckled trout and bluefish.

    The offshore fleet caught dolphin, wahoo, amberjack and barracuda.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was another hot and relatively humid day.  We had temperatures nearing the 90º mark and winds out of the east-southeast and the east-northeast around 10 mph.

    Avon Pier and beach is reporting some pompano, sea mullet and spanish mackerel.  Buxton had some spanish mackerel and sea mullet as well.  Frisco also had catches of sea mullet.  Hatteras is catching sea mullet and bluefish.

    The inshore boats had good catches of speckled trout.

    The offshore fleet caught mahi, wahoo, king mackerel, tilefish, amberjack, sea bass and grouper.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny with a high humidity. We had temperatures in the upper 80s.  The wind was 5-8mph from the NNE-NNW.

    There was a 2lb 1oz citation Pompano caught over 49.

    The inshore boats had good catches of Speckled Trout.

    The offshore fleet caught Mahi and Wahoo. Bottom fishing included Triggerfish, Vermillion Snapper, Grouper, and Tilefish.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had temperatures of 90F.  There was a hot wind out of the SSW at 10 mph.

    Due to rough ocean conditions from the Southwest wind, fishing was tough.  There were some spot, croaker, pompano and sea mullet in Avon from the Pier and the beach.  Buxton had some sea mullet.  Here in Frisco, we had a few sea mullet.  Hatteras had some sea mullet, bluefish and small flounder.  Folks kayaking have been catching speckled trout as well.

    The inshore boats had good catches of Spanish Mackerel, Speckled Trout, and Bluefish. One inshore boat hosted a group from NC State University for several days to tag and release cobia. They released 9 cobia after tagging to gather information for their research

    The offshore fleet caught Mahi and Wahoo. One Blue Marlin and two Sailfish were released. Bottom fishing included tilefish as well as a few Grouper.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had temperatures in the upper 80’s.  The winds were West-Southwest at 10-12mph.

    Due to rough ocean conditions from the Southwest wind, on south beach we did not receive any reports from teh beach.

    The inshore boats had good catches of speckled trout and the nearshore boats had catches of Bluefish

    The offshore boats stayed at the docks due to rough conditions
