• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had warm temperatures with sunny skies most of the day.  The winds were  from the south-east in the morning switching to the north-west most of the day and early evening the temperatures dropped when the winds switched again to the north-east at 5-10 mph.  We had temperatures in the mid 70’s dropping to the low 60’s by dark.

    Up on the Avon beach some bluefish and sea mullet were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches bluefish, sea mullet and a nice pompano were caught.  Over on Ramp 49 on the Frisco Beach we had bluefish and a nice pompano caught today.  The Hatteras beach had reports of bluefish, sea mullet and blow toads.

    The picture below is Francis Kennedy with his 1 lb 8 oz pompano that he caught on the Frisco Beach today using shrimp.  Pretty work!!!

    The inshore boats had excellent catches of puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound today.

    The offshore boats caught lots of citation blackfin tuna and a few dolphin and wahoo.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a little cooler, we had a high of 66F.  The winds were out of the north-east around 10 mph, switching to the south-east tonight.

    Bluefish were reported in Buxton.  Ramp 49 also had reports of bluefish.  Hatteras had reports of sea mullet, flounder and bluefish.

    Inshore boats are having good catches of red drum.  The offshore boats caught gaffer size dolphin, yellow fin tuna, blackfin tuna and a few wahoo.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Such a beautiful day here on Hatteras Island.  We had light north winds this morning.  The winds switched to the south-east, then to the south west and increased throughout the day.  We had a high of 75F.

    Cape Point had bluefish and big drum this morning and this evening.  Ramp 49 had bluefish and pompano caught.  Hatteras had reports of sea mullet, blow toads and croakers.

    There is no inshore report for today.  The offshore boats caught dolphin,  wahoo, yellowfin and blackfin tuna.  The boats that bottom fished caught golden tilefish and grouper.  There was a 511 lb Blue Marlin boated.  Pictured below is the blue marlin caught aboard the Hatteras Fever II.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was another beautiful day on the island. Temperature was around 70 throughout the day. The wind early this morning was South-West at less than 5mph coming around to the North for a couple hours, changing back to South-West at 5-10mph around noon.

    The fishing was steady today. Today in Avon Sea Mullet, Bluefish, Spot, and Blowtoads were caught. Also in Avon there were some Speckled Trout released. The Bluefish were thick in Buxton. The ones willing to walk to the Point today caught Puppy and some larger Red Drum. Also some Flounder, Sea Mullet, and Spot were caught in Buxton. In Frisco today a Sheepshead was caught along with some Flounder, Bluefish, and Sea Mullet.

    Inshore today the Puppy Drum were still biting. Some Blues were caught too. There were also some nice size Cobia spotted.

    Offshore today was busy. There were several White Marlin released. Gaffer Dolphin, Blackfin Tuna, and a few Wahoo were caught trolling. From the bottom there were some Grouper, Tilefish and Triggerfish.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The weather was beautiful day. Sunny skies with temperatures in the upper 60’s dropping off to the lower 60’s in the afternoon. The wind was all over the place today. In the morning the winds started out 5-10mph North-West shifting to East-North-East around noon, and later in the coming around to South-South-West.

    Fishing Picked up a little today. Avon today there were report of Sea-Mullet, Spot, Croakers, and Blowtoads. The Bluefish were in Buxton today along with some Sea-Mullet. Also the Bluefish were in Frisco today. Hatteras today had reports of Blowtoads, Flounder, Bluefish, and Sea-Mullet.

    The inshore charters had reports of several Puppy Drum.

    Offshore today had a good catch of Dolphin Wahoo, Yellowfin and Blackfin Tuna. the bottom fishing picked up. There were Triggerfish, Tilefish, and Groupers. There was also a white marlin released.
